From our Principal and Vice Principal, Paul Hollingum and Victoria Linsley

St Mary Magdalene Academy offers a secure and caring environment for your child from the age of 4-18years, and we strive for excellence of attainment in academic subjects and beyond. At every point of transition from home to school, from primary to secondary, and from secondary to sixth form, we aim to provide the best possible care and support.

All staff at St Mary Magdalene Academy work to maintain high standards of behaviour and attainment. We want every student at the Academy to be able to work in a positive learning environment, so they can achieve the highest possible SAT, GCSE and International Baccalaureate results.

Our first full Ofsted report was hugely positive about the progress we are making as an Academy, and we are very pleased to have received this external validation of what a strong school we are. The full report can be read here, and says:

“Pupils enter lessons ready to begin learning and in anticipation they are rarely disappointed because the classroom environment, when combined with their good and often exemplary behaviour, support teaching and learning very well.” Ofsted, June 2010

Ambitious targets for all students have been set by the governing body. A computerised tracking and assessment system enables teachers to monitor individual progress effectively and to update parents regularly about their child’s attainment, progress and targets.

We believe that our excellent facilities, in conjunction with high quality teaching, assessment and learning, will offer your child an opportunity to succeed at every stage of their education.

Sponsored by the London Diocesan Board for Schools, Christian values are at the heart of Academy life, alongside a commitment to our humanities and global citizenship specialism. As well as setting rigorous academic standards, we strive to develop the moral and spiritual values and skills of all our young people so they can become active and considerate global citizens.
